Have you noticed that since the start of the BCS and continuing with the CFP, where the teams have to play for a National Championship, instead of sports writers just handing them out, the SEC has ruled the roost.

The CFP is still largely a popularity contest.
The BIG 10 is also at a disadvantage because the academic standards are higher than the SEC. About any moron can play at Georgia. Not so at Penn State, Michigan and most of the other BIG 10 schools.
