I think we shot eight last night is all. There weren't as many pheasants around and we had too many hunters on the IR list and not enough walkers. I walked more than usual and shot more than usual but that's how it goes. I think the blockers shot zero which with their mobility issues isn't surprising. One guy brought his six year old...a quarter section of CRP is no place for a little kid so they stayed on the perimeter, understandably.

Super high on my list was the performance of Lola my little black lab. Lots of flushes, lots of hens and three superb retrieves. One was especially tough as I had shot a double and couldn't assist in all that deep grass. She went for the first and I went for the second...we met in the middle with two dead roosters. I was very pleased.

The kids from last week went goose hunting yesterday instead. I could have used them.
