Queen Elizabeth didn't hunt but she did train and work Labrador retrievers. She regularly went out with Philip. He'd do the shooting while she worked the dogs. When a dog retrieved a live bird, she would personally wring it's neck.
Dang. When my dog does a great retrieve, I give it a good head rub and sometimes a treat. Never wring a dog's neck.
