Those Hmong in the upper mid-west have quite a reputation for poaching. I was up in Michigan working the duck season back in 1990 and the federal wardens I worked with said the Hmong hunt in gangs and shoot any animal that moves. They told about how they would shoot a squirrel and put a stick through him and roast him whole guts, hair and all and eat him right there. Private property means nothing to them.

Several years ago a Hmong named Chai Vang was accosted for trespassing up in Wisconsin and ended up killing 6 of the hunters that confronted him. The story was that one of the hunters shot in ground behind him as he was walking off and he turned around and started shooting back. I would bet the hunters were fortified by alcohol and got pretty rowdy with him.
