They're a good rifle. You'll find they shoot very well and are well made. The rebounding hammer isn't the problem on the 95s as much as other models.

I had a Browning 1895 in 30-40 and got rid of it. Great shooting rifle that was smooth as glass, but....

Winchester/Browning/Miroku always turns the barrels to accommodate the largest possible bore diameter. My 30-40 was essentially a medium weight barrel because of that. Muzzle heavy and made it feel like I was shooting a 30" Mosin. Your 30-06 will be identical. If it were a 405, would feel light and balanced.

They do that with ALL the historic guns, 1873, 1892, 1894, etc.

The tang safety allows them to be sold in many countries that would otherwise block import.
