If you don't remove the bolt and your barrel is tight, u run the risk of breaking extractor
Couldn't you just lock the bolt to the rear rather than removing it to prevent any potential damage to the extractor?
Yes, if you have the stock bolt hold open. The Ruger design is very stable. Putting in the aftermarket automatic bolt release will easily slam the bolt closed when you don’t want it to.
