It’s obvious you’ve never tried that because that the foam pipe insulation won’t take the abuse of sitting on top of a window and the rifle being rested on it before it comes completely apart.

It works quite well especially when two pieces are used....one atop the lower layer!

Nope again, that was my first attempt. That insulation doesn't withstand the rigors of resting a rifle on the foam.
