Back in the day when I shot 12 ga and lead, the best I ever found was Active shells.
Back then, we did not shoot paper targets, we set a soup can on a post and if you could knock it off, you were good to go....Now I cringe thinking about patterning a gun that way.
I still have some 2 3/4” Active nickel-plated 5s. Some years back I had some 3” ones but no 3” gun, so advertised them locally. Phone about rang off the hook!
I also have some old Active 4s. The plant is just a few miles from here, now owned by Kent.
