Savage not only made the deluxe model but also an early & late versions. The early type had the mag release on the side. Bit unsightly to my mind. The latter one had it relocated
The early 40/45s magazine release was the tab on the bottom right side, the middle picture, while the later style magazine release was the button on the right side of the stock, first picture. The third picture looks like a Winchester 54.
Quite right, all counts. The third pix was inadvertent. I was focused on a computer upload problem &
accidental discharge... as I lost it!
