As long as your twist can accomodate them, you should be able to reasonably wring 2650-2700 FPS out of 120-grain slugs in a .250-3000. I just think there are better choices for launching that weight. A .257 Roberts should be able to reasonably do it at 2800 FPS.

The cost and trouble to ream .250-3000 dies to .257 Roberts can't quite be justified over buying a new set. wink Of course you're in a good place to turn that stuff over should you decide to go with something other than .250-3000.
