Before checking on what it sold for, I was thinking in my mind that is an $1,100.00 rifle. It's beat up pretty good, but I'm sure the action is very useable. I don't like the pitting and neglect I see, but if one just wanted a 300H&H for shooting and hunting, it would work well for that and you wouldn't have to worry much about beating on it. Or pull the stock, sell it for a couple hundred dollars and throw it in your favorite Mcmillan or Brown PoundR.
It would be a very good platform for a custom though. Those H&H receivers are worth something. Love them for building rifles like my 300wby and 338wm. There are benefits with going with the H&H receiver for a build. So, that rifle looks like it sold for what I valued it at. Sorry I did not see this sooner, I've been out and about..
