I've used Hawk bullets in the 9.3. They are a good cup and core bullets with soft copper jackets.they held together for me. I would check with them about what jacket thickness they would recommend for your use. I recall that you they will put a cannelure if you want one. My experience is that they are knowledgeable and helpful.
I used a 356 on whitetails for a couple years. They tended to fall down and stay put. One didn't, I only hit one lung, but even I could follow that blood trail. Enjoy time with Dad's gun and memories.
