If you can't kill with a simple 100gr btsp, you and your rifle need to take up golf. Keep schidt simple, and you can kill easily out to 500 yards with no issues.
I can see if you wanted to make nice shots on animals at 800 yards, switch to a higher BC pill, but guys have been getting it done with lighter projectiles in the 243 for years.
I love Tikka's, and like the fact they are making an 8 twist, but to say that is absolutely necessary, is total bullshchidt.
It's not "absolutely necessary," but high BC sure makes life easier when the wind blows, even at 300-500 yards.
