I like the 527…..from an aesthetics and nostalgia standpoint…..but the 600 probably improves upon functionality and usefulness in many areas for many folks.

Agreed 100%. Thankful I bought my 527 Carbine .223 in 2019. Topped with a Jap Weaver fixed 6X in steel mounts, and in its Boyt canvas case, it's my classy do it all farm/truck gun.
