PF Lambert is the one credited for the first chambering of the 25-308. I'd have to go back and look for the date, but it certainly was soon after the 308 was introduced.

I shoot 75 to 100 grain bullets in mine, and as mine is on a 788 action, I have to keep pressures down. So my velocities may seem a bit low to those with stronger actions. But that also means my loads are probably safe in any other rifle.

I can confirm that using 250AI, or 243 or 260 data with the appropriate bullet weights is both safe and effective, with the usual start low and work up procedure.

With 75 VMax:
42.0 of I4895 maximum in my rifle (3400 fps)
