No disrespect to Miller. He was an American hero.

But he was no POTUS, he was not a state, he was not a ship's name with 250 years of history behind it. Nor was he a high ranking officer or a major sea battle.

His name was chosen for a capital ship simply and only because he was black. A simple case of discrimination if ever there was one.

There has never been a capital ship named for a Chief, a Petty Officer, let alone a cook.
