wear your muffs when you touch that off. .30 Carbine Ruger SA is the LOUDEST handgun out there.  I would bet so seeing as how the round was designed to work in an 18" barrel. I would imagine not all the powder is burned in a pistol length barrel. But heck I'm no expert and could be wrong.
