That's good shooting! I'm a relatively new BPCR shooter, but I've been amazed at how accurate they are. You don't say what you were loading before going to the .030 Walters wads, but an over powder wad is pretty standard when loading BP cartridges with lead bullets. My understanding is that their purpose is to protect the base of the bullet.
