I have both, 1 700 in 270 WSM, 1 700 in 7mm SAUM, and 2 7s in 7mm SAUM. AFAICT, they fill the same niche and produce the same down-range results with the 140 grain bullets that I'm shooting from both of them.

I prefer the 700 in 7mm SAUM because it is SS and I generally prefer SS to CM in my "working" rifles, but they function equally well. 1 of the 7s in 7mm SAUM keeps asking to be rebarreled to 25 SAUM, but I'm resisting the pressure.
