For deer, I am running a .30-30 AI in the 23 inch barrel that shoots 150 Hornady's really well. That thing is a shooter. For varmints I have a .223 that shoots 50 grain VMax into tiny groups, and a .22 K Hornet that is a hoot to shoot and cheap to load. Currently I am seting up a 10 inch .30 Herrett barrel just for kicks. I am having to wait for a good scope. It currently has a 2.5 Recoil Proof with rail mount that came off my Renegade, but I want slightly more magnification. I can't believe it took me so long to get hooked on Contenders, but I am hooked pretty bad.
