My load is taken from one of JB's "Loads That Work" articles: 180 grain Scirocco II, 83.5 grains of IMR 7828, R-P cases and CCI Magnum Primers. It chronographs 3,250 fps ten ft from the muzzle and will consistently group three shots around 3/4" from my semi-custom Weatherby Vanguard. I have taken two bull elk with this load and both were one-shot kills. My step-son used it to take a nice Coues whitetail at right around 400 yds (we ranged the shot after the fact). The bullets are seated as far out as they can be and still work reliably through the magazine. YMMV...
