I've heard nothing but good about his rifles and stocks. Now I think if you told him it was to be a lefty and a Leo would ride on top he would take care of it from the get-go and your worries would be for naught.
If the bug bit I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of his rifles. However, that Mr. Forbes down your way has bit me pretty good recently.
