goodnews, I've hunted Iowa for over 20 years with any breed you'd like to name. One of the better pheasant dogs I've ever seen was a black lab that lived it every day and lived near Afton. I can honestly say, though, that my setters, hunted hard previously, and given a days acclimation, would more than hold their own.
