I have used the 200 grain core-lokts for whitetail and have some 200 barnes x bullets loaded for elk.
If you are wanting a bullet for varmints and want to poof a coyote or two use a 190 grain pistol bullet,but not if you are keeping the hides.
I have tried the 225-250 grain bullets and decided that whitetail are not bullet proof.
