I put a blank in the dovetail slot, for no particular reason. They don't cost much.

The Williams sight screws to the left side of the receiver, and the peep is centered over the receiver on an L.

While I was at it I put a different front sight on it to go with the new rear sight. I don't remember the brand, but it has a white stripe up the back. It stands out real well against dark objects in the woods, like leaf wads that look like crows, for example.

Hooded front sights are great for targets, and I have one on my target .22, but they really slow me down when I'm trying to spot a target in the field.
