Naptha (lighter fluid) cuts through rubber based adhesives used on labels and tape like a hot knife through butter. It leaves no residue, like WD40 does, and will not attack the finish.
I use it in my music store to remove stickers from electric guitars without damaging the finish. Use it in a well ventilated area.
