From what I have read there is not really any advantage ballistically between the two out of such short barrels. I have had the Beretta 21 in 25 auto, loved it. Shot flawlessly after a 90 round break in. I now have the 21A in .22lr. This gun shoots flawlessly with CCI Stingers, I use Remington Golden bullets for practice most of the time, these shoot real well but I do get an occasional FTF. The reason I switched is the cost of ammo and I have so many other .22's. I just couldn't see paying big bore prices for 25 auto and they are expensive. If cost is no issue for you I would stick with the 25. While my .22 hasn't failed with the stingers yet, maybe six hundred rounds, I think I had more confidence in the 25.
