27s were Smith's Cadillac revolver for a long time, and a lot of folks are partial to the 3.5" barrel. Also, that length was not really available on many on Smiths (if any, I'm not sure). Depending on the condition, timeframe, box and accessories, etc., over $1K does not seem out of the question but I don't follow 27s that closely.
