While I tend to agree with that statement, the 4" 27 is really rare; that is, the pinned & recessed 27 4". Only made from 1979-1981 in a -2 configuration. The 3.5" and 5" were discontinued in 1979, but had been made for over 30 years in those barrel lengths. In those 3 short years, S&W made alot of -2 4", but still no where near as many as the 3.5" and 5". (Note: I am only talking about pre-82 P&R'd guns, which are much prefered to an S&W collector than the later non-P&R'd guns).
