Exactly. When the 300 WBY first came out the only rifles available were Weatherbys, which tended then, as now, to be pretty darned expensive. A Remington 721 in 300 H&H was a cheap way to get into the biggest, baddest 30 Cal round of the day and I don't blame the guys back then one bit for having done it. Particularly when you look at the ballistics of factory 300 H&H ammunition from that era.
