I'm going on a trip to the Nebraska Sandhills this fall for a combo Mule deer Whitetail hunt. Was told the Mule deer go 250-300 lbs. I always took my 300 RUM on all my hunts and have been shooting the 168 Berger VLD's and they have never let me down. Just wanted to take my new Encore 25-06. I loaded 110gr Accubonds last fall and they avg. just under an inch at 100. Only had a chance to take one doe with it and it took an instant dirt nap at about 265. Would like to have used it a few more times but a already filled my buck and other doe tag in archery. I've been asking a few people what they think i should take and they all think i'm nuts for wanting to take the 25. I've killed so many deer with the so called little 243 and i'm completly confident in the 25. Just wanted to hear what you fellas thought on this subject and why or why not i should take the 25-06 and if i should stick with the AB or choose a different bullet.
