They have worked well on desert mule deer in my .257 AI. Three deer killed, all with one shot. Only one moved out of its tracks, stumbling maybe 10-12 yards before it went down. I will add that I have never had to track a deer out here, so blood trails don't mean much to me. It will be the same way in the Sand Hills--they will have to go a long ways to die out of sight.
