10-4 Lou, I have an old pre-64 M-70 in 270 WCF in a very pretty stick of English walnut and I agree, 2900 fps is plenty, I dont want to lean on the steel or wood to much on this old girl.
Plus, a 150 Partition leaving at 2900 fps flat knocks the crap outta WT deer.
