When we have a fire or an auto accident or someone injured the first responder is a LEO. They ck out the scene and then in rolls more LEO's and then ambulances and fire trucks.
Most CalFire field Battalion Chiefs are sworn officers with all the equipment.
Been that way for years.
Nice to have that at your incident when SO or CHP could be an hour away.
