Late December or early January is the mating season here. The bucks are chasing the does and if you watch carefully, you can see groups of guys chasing the gals. If you shoot carefully, you can pick off all the guys and at each shot, they all duck into a hole or hunker in a crotch but a few minutes later, they have to move again to find their girl. If you don't shoot her you can take a bunch from one spot. My best is 5 with a flintlock. But 3-4 with a .22 is not hard to make happen.
