There was another mention of those officers last night on the Denver news. Seems they had likely packed a couple mule deer home in earlier incidents. Indications were they were indeed injured deer that needed to be put down, but still procedure does not allow personal confiscation of taking.
I've not heard if there's been any disposition on the wildlife charges that accompanied the elk shooting.
