The headlights in that particular vehicle have individually fused circuits. If you have DRL, the ground should be somewhere on the left ft fender.

Daytime Running Lights

I would second a ground issue but would also check for a short in the trailer wiring harness,is should be fused separately but maybe a mini fuse to the trailer lights off the main headlamp circuit. Also check for a continuity in the circuit with the lights off.
