A bit of confusion on the one on "GunAuction" I have owned three Herters "U-9"s All were on BSA actions. All were marked: "U-9"!
I have owned only one "J-9". It was on a Santa Barbara Mauser action. Upon removing the bbld action from the stock I noted the left side of the tang was clearly stamped: "Made in Spain" . I didn't keep it for that reason...
