Damn! You're inspirational!

At 55 I was beginning to think I'd never get a buck, let alone an elk. I was going to let a lot of stuff go so as to concentrate on the kids. I might just keep a little secret stash of good hunting stuff in case I get a lucky break. Which means, in California, saving up for a Nevada hunt.

You older gentlemen are certainly an inspiration for all. I'll be 55 this year and lower back issues ok me from running 5 miles a day to a grinding halt.

Best wishes for speedy recovery an continued health to all.

peepsight3006,

Glad you can experience pain. Can you drive? If you get over here to Southern Oregon I will set up a portable bench and you can shoot ground squirrels.

Thanks for the kind words y'all. I still drive, kill a buck and a bull almost yearly and an have started a free reloading clinic for youth with safety certificates.

After my wife passed on a few years back I had to downsize my living style. I stored a lot of goodies and bought some very good health insurance, which I still have.

If death wants me more than life and the joy of hearing a bull bugle at dawn, or the rise of a cutthroat to a number 18 nymph, I will go. But not without a hell of a fight.

Once again, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but more like the size of the fight in the dog.

And yep, I can still feel pain.

Best wishes to all, and NEVER give up.

Wayne
