On June 3 the article posted to the Federal Register could stop all internet, web sites, public places, which gives Technical info on how to work on guns as well as reloading ammo.

I must be a little late to this discussion, but have you guys read about this new way of stopping our rights to Keep our Guns in working order.

Whatever the source I think they are badly misreading the proposed rule. But it would take a day and a half to figure it out and make a case with authority. Not gonna do it unless I can bill someone.

If you want to try (good luck!), here's a link to the proposed rule extracted from the 3 June Congressional Record: The Extract

I'll leave it up for a little while, it's a 14 page PDF document and eats a chunk of my free server space. The GPO site uses live links so I can't give a link to their site to the extracted pages.

Which explains a lot.

Skimmed through it and it appears to be related to military items of note instead of any public commodity related to guns..

And I left out a word in my original post; I meant to say "existing" books - in case the AIC and his peeps were to try to remove reloading manuals etc..

This makes no sense, what are you talking about? There's no article linked.

Did you mean "Info could be blocked by Obama's Pen"? That would kind of make sense.

I said pin because he has a lot full of his people in the pin at the White House waiting to change history.

If you don't believe in looking up this information he can use the PEN TO CHANGE EVERYTHING HE WANTS.

Look up the NRA report from June 5-7 and read about what is being proposed under the Federal Register June 3. Learn to search for yourself on the topic.

I was a full time gunsmith before the first laws past in 1967 and look what happened with all of the record keeping. It gets worse every time a new President gets in office.

My working days are over so you younger guys and gals must keep up with the changing laws.

You are going to have to be way more explicit in your criticism of the document. As such, please refer directly to the stipulation of the document that specifically states that the public's access to technical information will be restricted. As far as I can tell the document's proposed changes have to do with the President's Export Control Reform Initiative and it involves information used by businesses engaged in the export of firearms and related technology (please correct me if I am wrong). If this facilitates the restriction of such information into the hands of the bad guys then please explain how that is a negative thing? I am not criticizing the OP as much as I am requesting that he provide the information from the document that directly supports his argument because I haven't found it.

The article involves weapon exporting. It controls such things as operational specs of such things as aircraft etc.
There is no mention of such things as hand loading information.
This just another NRA scare to increase contributions.

They have been trying to stop Child Porn on the internet for years and how has that worked?

Much of what I read had to do with standardizing language for an existing Presidential Initiative. Pardon me but I don't get the above-mentioned analogy.

ITAR is about technical information as well as weapons and equipment that could potentially be used with effectiveness against our troops overseas. What this revision seeks to do is curtail any information that describes or outlines ways to modify weapons to increase their effectiveness, ie what we often talk about in these forums. All of this info is open to be read by anyone in the world with access to the internet. I haven't come across any info in these forums that I would construe as sketchy in that it would enable someone to do any more harm than they could do anyway. The soul of ITAR is just in itself but I suspect this administration will use the changes for more nefarious reasons. I, for one, am strongly opposed to any limitations such as this as it infringes on our 1st Amendment rights in an attempt to create a backdoor to affect our 2nd Amendment rights.
