Just spent some delightful time talking about good books with an old Naval Photo Center shipmate. Knowing nothing about the thread (in another Campfire forum) on the subject of the 1883 Krakatoa eruption (which I hadn't mentioned, either), he heartedly recommended a book that he'd just read � Simon Winchester's Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded: August 27, 1883. I just ordered a copy via abebooks.com.

Thought that maybe some of you might like your own copy, too.
