This is the straight english stocked model with all the chokes. I am thinking it was a very strong 98+% gun..got me alittle confused because its a high gloss finish and guessing it to be 26" barrel.Anyway, is this a model thats a bluebook gun or is market different./.dove season is upcoming and I was looking for and excuse ! $450, $500, $550,$600 or -/+ ?

That should be an upland model, with the straight stock. It came as a premier. Nice piece.. Last one I bought was around $650... Been a few years ago though...

Better check on the bbl though. I kind of remember them being 24"... If that bothers you...

IIRC, those have a shorter barrel (23" or 24" ?) and a shorter magazine tube - holds 3 in the mag as opposed to 4 in the mag for a full length gun.

I don't remember what I paid for mine, but it wasn't real cheap.

I dont recall them ever making a 11-87 20 with a straight stock, thats not to say someone has not changed it. But to your question anything under 500 is stealing it and over 650 is too much IMO. All depends on condition, matt or gloss finish?

I missed out on a pair of 11-87 20 gauges with the straight stock about 8-10 years ago. They were the upland models, I think for Quail Unlimited or something like that. A guy right in front of me bought the pair. IIRC they were $499 each, quite a steal.

Oh trust me they made them,I have one.. They are a premier addition I believe with a 23" inch barrel. High gloss with a great deep blue. The only one I could find sold on a google search that had a price was $770...! In 2012...!!

elkivory,

If that gun has a high gloss finish, it is either re-finished or adapted from something else. The "Upland Special" had satin finished furniture. They had engraving on the receivers and a gold plated trigger.

Swift516 is correct in his description, and his link shows the 'real thing'.

If it really has a 26" barrel, it is not the "Upland Special" model, but a regular 1187 that someone has replaced the stock on. I missed out on a closeout sale of those straight stocks at Remington a few years ago.

The barrels for the "upland Special" and the regular 1187s will not interchange because of the difference in the magazine length. I suppose a 'smith could adapt one to work.

Remington also made a version of the 870 Wingmaster Deluxe pump that had a short barrel and straight stock, but I think it was called a "Special Field"
