A Savage model 25 with the thumb hole stock in .222 Remington is headed this way. I have read Brian Pearce's review in Rifle on the same rifle in 17 Hornet. I have read John Barsness's article on the "Triple Deuce" in Guns magazine. I wonder if anyone reviewed the Savage in the .222? Thanks all.

Handled a Model 25 in 22 Hornet today and didnt like the looks of the plastic magazine. Did some research and the main complaint is the magazine on this model.

I didn't even know they were chambering the Duece in the M25, it must be a new chambering.
It's a good thing, of course. The Duece is never a bad choice.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

I will give a full report when the rifle arrives. I am not too worried about the magazine, but will let you know what I think. Thank you.

I have this rifle in a 17 Hornet. I just returned from a prairie dog shoot and fired 700+ rounds with a single magazine without any issues once I got used to loading the four rounds in the magazine.

I think the Savage 25 was released about 10 years ago, or about the time a friend wanted one in a Hornet.
Can only fathom the 222 came out another five years later.....with the twist rate built around a SAAMI rimfire action.
A 222 lover should pass....

Perhaps it would be safe to assume the Hornet isn’t twisted 1-8” and capable of handling the 75 A-Max then?
