Had a close miss here tonight as this tornado was just 6-7 miles WNW of us. Watched it on the ground for 15-20 minutes, so I know it did some damage, but don't know how much. Good news is there aren't a lot of houses in the area where it touched down. I like watching storms, but watching this one from our back yard was a little close for comfort.

Glad you guys are all OK. I don't miss the Kansas tornado season, but I do like weather, and we had it in spades when we lived in Manhattan.

Yes, I took these pictures from our back yard just north of Hutchinson (southcentral KS). Reports of some damage, but thankfully it doesn't appear that anyone was hurt.

I was concerned at that point that it was going to continue to get stronger and move our direction, but it stayed at that strength (I am guessing EF2) for a while, then began to weaken. Some cleanup will be needed in the area, but we were lucky as it certainly could have been worse.
