and PB with Chocolate. Saw this at the store this week.
Anyone going to pack some in for added calories, spread it on a Cliff bar or something? I am wondering if it will be a bitch to mix up in field conditions and whether it's worth the small weight savings over single serve type packages.
Guess I should have got a jar to try out.

I've tried it and it wasn't bad.

I eat a lot of it in protein shakes when I don't need the full calorie/fat load of regular nut butter. My whey protein is unflavored to avoid all the crap sweeteners they generally use, so I mix in some Stevia, cocoa powder, and PB powder. Makes it taste awesome.
Now with even more aplomb

JPro, hey good idea for breakfast, going to add it to the oatmeal whey protein mix.
Which whey protein are you using?

I believe the powdered pb has most of that fat/calories removed.
In the field, I would want all that fat and calories, along with the protien.

I hadn't even thought about that but you're right. I have a product called PB2, it's 8% fat by weight, compared to 50% fat by weight for Jif.
I'm kind of partial to almond butter myself. Justin's nut butters in the foil pouch are just about the right serving size, on a typical trip for as much as I'd take (3-4 servings) the weight is not that big a factor.

Just exactly how much weight would you be saving? miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.

Yeah, considering this would be for backpack elk hunts, the more fat the better. Peanut butter on Fritos is what I'm looking for. Still can look forward to dropping a few pounds in all the excitement.

Well, if you do it right, you'll lose some weight no matter how much food you pack in or snarf down. I always do.

In the field, I would want all that fat and calories, along with the protien. I'm with this. I eat as much as I can when I'm elk hunting and still lose 5-10 lbs in a week. I've had the powdered version and its easy to mix in the field and tastes all right. The only downside is that we eat ALOT of PB so we simply buy big containers and have been known to make smaller containers for packing and/or field applications (r.e. cliff bar PB vehicle). PB has become one of our go-to foods during the day.

Guess I should have got a jar to try out. I've used it and like it. It has lower carbs and sugar than regular PB. I use it to fulfill PB cravings (cause its less damaging than the real thing) and spread it on apple slices for a snack. Jordan
