My most used gun is a 6.5 Rem Mag using 123 gr. SMKs at about 3250. I have yet to have a hog walk off from one and some of them weighed up to about 300 lbs. I don't do autopsies on them but most have a golf ball sized hole on the far side. That bullet both pentrates and destroys.

I haven't tried any 123 gr. Scenars but have some to load for when I start up hog culling again.

As always-YMMV.

I have used the .257" HPBT Gameking out of a 257 Roberts. Took three deer with it one morning. One spinal tap, one shoulder shot and one neck shot. None exited. To it's credit, all three were bang flops.

I just didn't feel comfortable with it enough to hunt another season with that bullet.

Mrs. Tide used the 130 grain BTHP Gameking in .264" diameter. I loaded some for her to use out of a 6.5x55 Tikka T3 Hunter model, that I bought off the classified section here at the campfire.

All four of the deer she took were pass throughs, and none made it more than 30 yards, with rib and shoulder shots.

Found an old box of the 140 gr 270's locally for about 1/2 price of new stock so grabbed them fast. Hope to do some load development in the next couple of weeks and maybe bag a few deer this fall with them. I'll give them a good work out and see how I like them. Will try to update this thread after sending some down the barrel.

I've used them in a .243 for deer and coyotes. Kills like lightning, but I wouldn't trust it for breaking a lot of bone.

Good, I have some H 4831 sc along with some IMR 7828 ssc and Magnum, should be able to find a load with those powders. BTW I have to say the hollow point on them looks pretty cool........

I've had very good success with the 165 HPBT Gameking in the .308 and .30-06. Accurate and performance on deer and pigs has been excellent.
