i just bought a 375 ruger m77 guide gun. I know it has at least 300 yards of flat shooting and thats all i will need for deer. Just out of curiosity, what would be my maximum range with this gun? And what loads to reach it?

The only one that can determine your maximum range is you. The cartridge with just about any factory load will kill a deer in excess of 1000 yards, IF you can hit it.

Let me be the first to point out that the harder you load it, the flatter it will shoot, especially with long, heavy streamlined bullets. (You’re welcome) Seriously though, a lot of bullets for the 375s aren’t made light enough to expand real easily on smaller animals like deer can be. Speed loss only adds to the problem. You might want to choose one of the better expanders if longish shots are intended for this rifle.

The ballistics of a 375R and 260NAB are very similar to a .30-06 and 165NAB. Both leaving the barrel around 2900+/- with similar BC. Both drop below 1800fps at about 600 yards but are capable of clean kills to much further.
The 375R could be loaded with higher BC bullets and shot effectively by capable hands well past a grand if it suited them so.
On game I personally would not go past 700 yards simply because the bullet flight time is more than a second. A deer, elk or bear takes a step or two mid flight and a goat rope will surly commence.

First I would look at what bullets your gun shoots well, as a bullet with a .7 BC is worthless if it does not group well consistently. From there you can determine at what range your bullet will expand reliably.
You will be able to hit targets past 1000y, but I guess you will have to set a limit closer to 700/800Y for expansion. (just a guess here as I have no idea what combo you will end up with)

I would go with the Barnes TTSX 250.
