Was he wearing bells?Not many details have been released so I don't know if he had spray, bells(ha!), was trying to crowd a mom and cub to get some photos, or just minding his own business. There never seems to be an end to the "bear gun" discussions, so I thought I'd throw another stick on the fire.

Just for the record, your article is a week old. Since then they determined that the captured bear was the one who killed him and at least 1 of the cubs helped eat him. The sow has been killed and both cubs are on their way to a zoo in Toledo, OH. Since 1 cub is now an experienced man eater, I wonder if it will be more dangerous later.
I haven't heard if the guy was using bells, spray, or anything else.
