well, the gist of it is, it is measure in inches. the main beams, each tine, spread, and mass, then the deductions come into play.<P>at any rate, especially for a beginning hunter, don't worry about scores. go out, enjoy the hunt while it lasts (they are always over quick), and consider whatever you drag out to be a trophy.<P>i don't score the deer that i get, and i don't enter contests. to me, it is a personal pursuit, and i am happy w/ a mature deer (can't always get buck tags, so does get drug out by me at times, too).
