I know this has been discussed before in different forums, but I have a specific question about shooting 458 win mag in a 458 Lott rifle, when you look down the barrel of a 458 Lott the little step (little shoulder) is very visible? I have a McGowen barrel and this step is clearly visible. The pic below is an example of the little step in a 45-70 chamber because I cannot find a diagram of a 458 Lott chamber. Also, how the accuracy is affected by the jump to the rifling?

I have fired many 458 in my Lott. Some bullets like the jump and some do not. Now if you're going to handload use 458 loads in Lott brass. No dirty chamber and less bullet jump.
